If you knew him and I, and where we decide to take our conversations you'd realize, it's usually the stuff that matters, especially listening to music.

Well one day, we went for an adventure though the park, and I said to Tom, "Ya know what?" We spend so much time thinking about what we have done or what we have to do. We never just "be" in the present moment. We're so caught up with all the mundaness and normalities of life, that it just passes by. Of course he recited one of his favorite quotes where I don't know where he got. "Merge with the flow of being".

I thought of this because today at FC, Doug Sundheim writes

"Paradoxically, when you're obsessed with results, you're less effective at producing them. This is because your head isn't in the present moment. It's off in the future - worrying about the result. It's like a basketball player trying to win a game by staring at the scoreboard. It doesn't work. Focus on playing the game and the score will take care of itself."

I think this is an excellent observation, it kind of merges itself well with the whole Buddhist/Zen Philosophies as you can see below, Until next time I leave you with this quote:

We should work like the rain. The rain just falls one rain drop after another.
It doesn't ask: Am I making a nice sound down below? Will the plants be glad to
see me? Millions and billions of raindrops, only falling
. -- Jakusho Kwong (1935 - ), American Zen Buddhist MonkGlenn Lawlesshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03137090190967788376noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12681432.post-1144067774603766692006-04-03T05:23:00.000-07:002006-04-03T05:36:14.976-07:00VICARIOUS....
....is the word of the day. Well since my last post I have been real busy with Philosphy Class two nights a week plus work, so it does make it difficult to get here.

Descartes has actually inspired me alot and got me to think profoundly, in fact so much that I think I'm "dreaming" about thinking . . for those who have read Descartes you know what I'm talking about . .

Anyway I wanted to point you again to Doug Sundheim's post from Fast Company, a very inspiring gentleman indeed about "Who inspires you?!! when you are in fact lost in the void of mundaness and feel hopless and well (blah). Who inspires your mind and uplifts your spirit and heart? Wherever you are today? If you think about it, you didn't get there alone, someone helped you along the way, and it's the reason you aren't the only one on this earth, unless you're a "Solopsists", and you think that Only you exist . . (I'm feeling a little Philisophical, so I have to get this out of the way, and it's something I came across last night) ..
Descartes's thinking was inspired by Aristotle and Aristotle by Plato and Plato by Socrates . . But who was Socrates' teacher?

I believe he says woman name who begins with "D", but he talks highly of this "loved one", reflecting in much the same nature as the man quoted below . . Look this "loved one's" name, makes you think about Love and it's place next to all this reason and logic . . but anyway I must say Thank you Melissa, I Love you, you inspire me spiritually in a way you'll never understand . . . again, I Love you!

"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Soon robot's will be building other robots to destroy the "Human Virus". Have you people seen "The Matrix"! Scary stuff. The implications of this are brilliant, especially when you consider the impact it would have on Nanotechnology. Microscopic little robots that can build each other and replicate, assemble, disassemble, very Star Trek-ish. NanoRobots, one day removing cancer, assempling cells one at a time. It might be possible?

On another Sci Fi note . . I failed to make it to see Star Wars. I'm not bitter about it either. I let my brother and his girlfriend take care of the whole "I'll get the ticket's" deal for the premier of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Unfortunately I failed to trust my very own "Force" within me. My gut instinct told me, to react and get those tickets, schedule ahead. I really am not a control freak, I think Ronald Reagan said it best, "Trust, yet verify"! ?

I do confide in people, and trust them whole heartedly to do something. I have had to take many bets on people, either in my work-life, or personal relationships, and I feel I am rather optomistic, when most may say that I am naive for giving in. Do you trust others to get the Job done, or has there been times when you knew you had to just trust "your gut"?

Now about trust, and relationships . . .and expecially for you you "Networking Moguls". I've been reading alot of Keith Ferrazzi's Blog: Never Eat Alone, great stuff! It's based on his new book as well, with the same title. (Another book i have to read) BUSY!

So I just checked on-line, and well, all the showtimes seem to be sold out. I didn't realize there were that many Star Wars fanatics in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre metro. It's a good thing that I work on the "Montage mountain" right next to the Cinemark. I'm goin to negotiate my way into getting tickets . . I bet there are already scalpers!!

Until next time, "May the Force be with you!"Glenn Lawlesshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03137090190967788376noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12681432.post-1116356978483208452005-05-17T12:01:00.000-07:002005-05-17T12:24:26.966-07:00Your GUT. . .

No . . .
